Ceterus (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Ceterus Bookkeeping mobile application (“App”).

2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly when you:

  • Connect financial accounts via third‑party services (Plaid, Finicity)
  • Upload documents, photos, or files
  • Update login credentials or complete forms to provide access to your business accounts
  • Communicate with support or submit requests

 

Types of information we may collect:

  • Personal Information: name, email, business account identifiers
  • Financial Connection Data: tokens or metadata needed to maintain linked accounts
  • Credentials: securely encrypted login credentials for accounts you authorize
  • Uploaded Documents: photos or files you select to provide account statements or reports
  • Device & Usage Data: app performance, crashes, analytics

 

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain bookkeeping and related financial statements
  • Establish and update financial data connections
    Process document uploads you submit
  • Improve the App and user experience
  • Send notifications about items blocking timely service or requiring your attention
  • Communicate with you about updates, alerts, and support

 

Information is retained as long as necessary to provide services or comply with legal obligations.

4. Financial Account Connections

We partner with trusted services (e.g., Plaid, Finicity) to link your financial accounts. When you authorize a connection:

  • Credentials are entered on the third party’s secure screens
  • Tokens or metadata are returned to Ceterus to maintain access
  • Your raw login credentials are encrypted and stored only with your explicit consent

 

We do not share login credentials with unrelated third parties.

5. Document Uploads
You control which photos and files are shared with us. We only access the documents you explicitly select to upload.

6. Notifications
If you enable notifications, we may send alerts to inform you about items blocking timely bookkeeping delivery or needing your action.

7. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We may share your information:

  • With service providers who help deliver the App’s functionality
  • With affiliate offshore companies that assist in providing bookkeeping services
  • To comply with legal obligations
  • In connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization (with notice)

We do not sell your personal information.

8. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit and at rest, access controls) to protect your data.

9. Your Choices
You cannot delete credentials, connected accounts, or account information through the mobile or web app
You can disable notifications at any time from within your device’s notification settings
You cannot disconnect financial accounts

10. Children’s Privacy
This App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or email.
